The Crime Scene Of A Homicide Investigation - 903 Words
Introduction: In a homicide investigation, one must take several steps to prepare. The first of which is to make oneself familiar with all of the processes that will be involved. This includes not only police and investigative work but also the processes that the body will be going through. The most important part of investigating a crime is that the officers and detectives know and understand the entire process. Familiarizing Oneself to Death Investigation Process As a detective on her first homicide case, Detective Scales would familiarize herself with the process completely before taking a single step inside the crime scene. The most important part of keeping a crime scene controlled and evidence accurate is all parties involved being aware and knowledgable of the processes and regulations. It is one thing to learn what they teach through the academy and schooling, and another to do research on oneââ¬â¢s own to have complete understanding. The cause of death is determined by a coroner or other official, while manner of death is determined by the circumstances of the crime. Manner of death would be declaring a death a homicide.
